They had a few classes together while attending Dordt University. But it wasn’t until a weekend trip through the Ag department that their paths crossed outside of class. Their group got snowed in, and they ended up staying up all night with their friends, talking and playing games, and floating the hotel’s indoor lazy river.
After the weekend, Aubriana thought Ivan might be interested, but wasn’t sure if the “Bachelor of the Ag Department” returned her interest. Turns out, her suspicions were true. A few weeks later, Ivan asked Aubriana on their first date. Somewhere between the cheese curds at Culver’s and the tandem bike ride to Sandy Hollow, a relationship blossomed that would change their lives forever.
For the next two years, they dated long-distance between Iowa and South Dakota, traveling back and forth on weekends. But their hearts longed to be near to each other. So after graduation, they decided to head to California, where jobs waited, and they could start building a life. Together.
Ivan + Aubriana are planning to wed this March at her family’s ranch in California, and I am so honored to be a part of their day! Here are a few of my favorites from my engagement session with these two lovebirds!
