They grew up in the same small town, just a few miles from each other, but were mostly just that: neighbors. They’d run into each other here and there in their hometown. Towering above most with his six foot four frame, Johnny was hard to miss. They shared a few classes together in high school, but still remained just as acquaintances. Until, that is, their senior year of high school.

Johnny and a friend attended the monthly FFA meeting, but went with their own agenda of ‘scoping out cute girls’. As he surveyed the room, he noticed Karly on the stage. Being just a few inches over five feet, Karly was now more or less in Johnny’s line of sight. He made it a point to chat with Karly later that night, and as the months passed, the two became inseparable.

Following graduation, however, they found themselves heading in different directions. Johnny was going to Iowa for college while Karly would be attending Fresno State. Long distance coupled with beginning a new chapter in life proved challenging, and the two decided to part ways. But as absence often does, their hearts remained riveted to one another. Johnny could think of nothing but her, and she, concurrently prayed that God would bring him back to her.

He did. Johnny returned home from Iowa, and the two found their way back into each others lives. And arms. Four years after ‘seeing’ her at the FFA meeting, Johnny proposed to the girl that had been under his nose his whole life, and asked her to be his wife.
Johnny and Karly will be ringing in 2015 as husband and wife as they plan their New Year’s Eve wedding this December!!! I am beyond honored to document their wedding day and looking forward to celebrating their love with their friends and family!!!
A few weeks back, I met Johnny and Karly at the amazing Santa Margarita Ranch, nestled in the hills just north of San Luis Obispo. It was the perfect setting for this couple in love…
Johnny, you done good, real good! Love love Karly’s engagement ring, especially the rose gold metal intertwined with the silver!!!
I have known both Johnny and Karly for years, so it was an absolute treat to spend the afternoon with them, documenting their love. Not going to lie…got a little emotional seeing these two so happy and engaged.
Johnny has a distinct ability to make Karly laugh with his outgoing and playful personality!
He undoubtedly knows this fact too and he proclaimed FULL credit for this smile below…
Karly seems to be his perfect match, and counterpoint. Johnny credits her for always being the one that keeps him grounded.

Oh, love…
After dating four years, Karly said she is excited for a new chapter in life with Johnny and looks forward to no longer having to say goodbye after their time together, but instead just goodnight. Next to him. Forever…
Absolutely love these few as the sun began setting behind the hills…
The light was gorgeous!!!
Probably one of my favorites from the session!
Johnny said beyond the wedding, he is most looking forward to doing life together with Karly. Making their house a home, together.
Karly, you are gorgeous!!! Love this one of her in her man’s arms…rawr!
Ah!!! I’m getting all emotional again, writing about these two so I’ll end on this happy note with these two…so happy + in love!!!
