When I was little, I had an imaginary friend. Her name was Teesa. Pronounced like Lisa, but with a “T”. Teesa and I went on all sorts of adventures together. She came on family vacations. She lived in a mint green house and ate dinner with us in the evenings. I’m not sure at what point I began worrying my mother, but she decided to ask our pediatrician if my imagination was ‘normal’. The doctor assured my mom it was indeed normal, and a sign of a creative, imaginative child.

My sisters love telling this story! Luckily for me, everything turned out positive.

I long for that same wild imagination. I am reminded of this everytime I spend time with my nieces and nephews. Their stories. Their questions about life. Their unfiltered curiosity. Their uncontained love…
This is my youngest niece, Selah. She just turned 1. She is the sweetest. i love her new little teeth, her blonde wispy hair, her blue eyes, and smiles. Melt my heart.
Okay, I love this picture. For about 5067 reasons, but here are just a few reasons why. One: my sister (Selah’s mommy), scrunches her nose just like this when she smiles. Two: her little chicklets. Gosh. Don’t you just want to squeeze her?
Sweet Selah
Oh, her little polka dots are sweet, don’t ya think?
My favorite of little Miss, now the big “1”
After picture time with Selah, Carys and I hung out for a bit. This is when the stories began….
And then we did a little singing together….
‘Jesus Loves Me’ has new hand motions! We’ll just call it ‘freestyle’.
And then we added a little dancing to the mix….
I think this is when the questions of life started. Oh sweet Carys, your imagination warms my heart!
And so does this smile! I’m pretty sure this was when we decided what animals we are.
“I’m a goofy goose, Auntie Lisa!”
She debated soon after if she should be a grumpy or goofy goose.

Decisions, decisions!
Goofy! Yesssssss!!!!
Still not quite sure if she could quite commit to being a goofy goose…

Too much goodness.
I’ll end with these few of sweet Carys and her beautiful imagination. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
